Yesterday (29-jun-2009) i went to NITIE to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The whole campus reminded me of my college days @ VNIT, Nagpur. There were so many similarities between the campuses built by the government during the 60’s but I guess that’s what makes this campuses so much addictive.
NITIE is located behind IIT Powai, with the Vihar Lake surrounding it on one side and the slums on the other side. As one enters the campus one sees the pond and then the hostels blocks start. As one proceeds on see the steps to the ad block these are called the 90 steps. There is a winding road which leads one to the main ad block. Besides the ad block is the MDP hostel block. The NDP hostel block provides a view of the beautiful Vihar Lake. The campus has a serene and calm atmosphere. One cannot imagine that the institute is located in the financial hub of India, Mumbai a city which never sleeps.
During interacting with students on the campus i was so engrossed that I forgot, I was not part of this campus. After experiencing the campus life I yearn to go back to college and again enjoy the campus life. Hope this year my prayers are answered and my hard work bears fruit….
