Anniversary
Date: 5 march 2009
venue: St Xavier's college mumbai
Oc: XLRI PMIR interview.
On this date i met the girl i wanted to meet for past 2 years. This day has been the most memorable in my life. What a day it was. Initially i was tensed and the pressure to convert this call was immense after all it was XL call. As i entered the waiting room i saw her and then all the anxiety/tension vanished. As it happens in hindi movies whenever the hero sees the heroine for the first time he goes into a dream sequence and a songs starts playing ,same thing happened to me.I was awestruck on seeing her and didn't knew what to do. The first thing i did was i calle up my friend Jiggy and told him the situation. After the call i went back to the room and talked to her. She was looking like an angel. We started chit chatting and were discussing trivial things. Time went by so fast that i didn't realize that it was time to proceed for the GD.In GD we both were able to team up and tried to convince the other members. To certain extent we were successful in doing so.After the GD it was PI time. She was fourth in the queue and i was 7. When i went to give the PI i was on cloud 9 because today i had got an opportunity to talk to her which i have been waiting for last 2 years. The PI started and the panel started grilling me but i was smiling. At the end they asked me even after having a stress interview why was i smiling. But i knew that they won't be able to understand the importance of this day.For me the day was already a successful day.Anyways after the exam season got over she joined FMS and i am still in TCS.Anyways i would like to thank god for providing me an opportunity to talk to her.Tommorow i have XIMB interview at same venue and same time but the only thing is she won't be there. :( .Anyways life goes on and we need to move on. God is really great.

Clean Up!! Mumbai
I had heard about this campaign long ago and thought that it would be one of the many campaigns which BMC had launches every year with much fanfare and then somewhere down the line are lost somewhere.
Today while i was walking towards the dadar station from the swaminarayan temple i stopped by the book stall and was browsing the books. I was browsing my pant pockets and found a Local train ticket from Jogeshwari to dadar. I tore the ticket into pieces and threw it on the road.As i was about to leave one gentleman called me and told me that i have to pay fine for littering on the street. My first reaction was what the hell with this guy....later on i found out these guys were Clean Up marshals deployed by BMC to impose fines on people who litter the streets. I tried to convince that guy to let me leave but finally i had to shell out 200 rs as fine.
I have heard about many schemes that are announced to clean the city but this was the first time i had actually seen it being implemented. Kudos to BMC for starting this initiative and implementing it .Hope that the scheme is able to achieve its objective.
It's time for all mumbaikars to help BMC to keep the city clean...

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning
Today while i was googling for some study material on Civil engineering i cam across this website.
http://nptel.iitm.ac.in/
And i must say that is very good initiative taken by the IIT's and IISc.I was aware of the OpenCourseWare Initiative by MIT but never expected anything of this type from the indian institutes. The course work which consists of lectures (audio/video) alongwith assignments is very detailed and comprehensive and will be very helpful for anyone looking to refresh his engineering basics. Some study material can be downloaded and the best part of all this is it's free. For the time being courses in basic streams of engineering is offered. I hope they will also add the course works for basic sciences also.
Kudos to Ministry of Human Resources for funding this project. Hope they continue the good work.
