I had heard about this campaign long ago and thought that it would be one of the many campaigns which BMC had launches every year with much fanfare and then somewhere down the line are lost somewhere.
Today while i was walking towards the dadar station from the swaminarayan temple i stopped by the book stall and was browsing the books. I was browsing my pant pockets and found a Local train ticket from Jogeshwari to dadar. I tore the ticket into pieces and threw it on the road.As i was about to leave one gentleman called me and told me that i have to pay fine for littering on the street. My first reaction was what the hell with this guy....later on i found out these guys were Clean Up marshals deployed by BMC to impose fines on people who litter the streets. I tried to convince that guy to let me leave but finally i had to shell out 200 rs as fine.
I have heard about many schemes that are announced to clean the city but this was the first time i had actually seen it being implemented. Kudos to BMC for starting this initiative and implementing it .Hope that the scheme is able to achieve its objective.
It's time for all mumbaikars to help BMC to keep the city clean...
